Note: This Has Been Discontinued!  Join NAAAP in supporting hurricane relief and recovery efforts administered through Foundation For The Carolinas.  Hurricane Florence, though downgraded from Category 4 to Category 2, is moving slowly and dumping rain for 4-5 days straight in North and South Carolina. Now a tropical depression near Columbia, SC. the biggest concern is the rain keeps coming and all main rivers in eastern NC are going to hit record flood levels. The Cape Fear River, floods at 36 ft. and is currently predicted to hit 62 feet!  Evacuations in Wilmington (home of film industry, beaaches, and UNC Wilmington college), New Bern (coastal town, birthplace of Pepsi), Fayetteville (military town) started last week. I-95 and I-40 have been closed to traffic due to flooding.  But the hurricane season is NOT over.
